Using your phone while driving is not good because it can increase the chances of an accident. For this reason, you are advised to keep your phone silent. Nowadays, smartphones, are available with special features. You can activate “Do Not Disturb” on android while driving.
Settings for Android
If you want to enable this mode on an android phone, swipe down the top of your screen to open a notification center and choose a “Do Not Disturb Mode”. To make necessary modifications, tap on the icon of “Don’t Disturb” and go into settings. In settings, you can see these options:
- Exceptions
- Behavior
- Schedule
In the section of exception, you can create a list of important contacts to reach you during this mode. The behavior section allows you to use two options: notifications and sound & vibration. In sound & vibration, select what you want to mute, such as touch sounds, media, alarms, etc.
Notifications allow you to hide sound from notifications. It is an excellent way to stop sound and visual interruptions. For more customization, click on a gear icon along with “Custom” and toggle off “don’t turn on your screen”, “hide notification dots” and “don’t blink light”.
Another section is known as schedule. You can make essential modifications in this section. This section is divided into two subsections: Turn Off Automatically and Duration.
In a duration tab, you can see a popup to enable “Don’t Disturb” until you turn this feature off manually. Set a particular time limit or activate a system that must ask you if you want to enable this feature.
With the help of turn on automatically, you can set a time to activate this mode. Feel free to set particular rules for this section, such as turn on this mode when you start driving. Click on “Add Rule” to create your rules and select whether it is a time or an event. Feel free to add names and follow instructions on the screen. No doubt, you will find this feature on every android device.
Pixel 3 Set up Driving Mode
If you have a pixel 3, you can follow these instructions to set up driving mode.
- Open “Settings” of your phone.
- Press “Connected Devices” and choose “Connection Preferences”. Now tap on “Driving Mode”.
- Hit “Behavior” to make some adjustments. If you want to use your smartphone during driving, choose android auto. It will be useful to turn on don’t disturb mode.
You can use the option “Turn on automatically”. In this option, you can choose a Bluetooth connection (if your vehicle has) as an indication of driving. Your phone will automatically activate this option once driving is detected.
