How can you connect the best new tablets to an external display? It wouldn’t be wrong to say tablets are the pinnacle of mobile technology. These are incredibly useful devices but even so, they are not the perfect replacement for laptops.

If you want to view your content from a tablet to a larger screen, you can do so in a few ways. With a little bit of research, you can connect your tablet to an external display like a monitor or projector.

Tablets and Ports

Most old tablets don’t have a USB-C port; they only have the traditional micro-USB port. Some new models support USB 2.0 micro-B ports with a mini DisplayPort. In some cases, tablets have HDMI-enabled video ports including Micro-HDMI, Mini-HDMI, or even a Full-size HDMI.

Just like tablets, display devices such as monitors, HD TVs, or Projectors have standard HDMI, Display, VGA, or DVA ports.  To view content from your tablet, you might have to use an adapter case or adaptor.

Choose a Cable or Adapter

In case the connections of your tablet don’t match up with your display device, you have the following options:

New tabletsPurchase the Adapter Cable

If this is the case, then you should choose an easily available cable with the right connectors on both ends. If you want to connect best new tablets featuring USB 2.0 Micro-B connector to HDMI monitor, you will have to use a Micro-B on one end with an HDMI connector. .

You should know USB 3.0 micro-B connectors are backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices.

Purchase the Adapter

Connect the adapter (male or female) to A/V cable. If you want to connect the tablet with mini Display Port to Display Device with DVI-D cable, you will need to use a Mini Display Port (Male) to DVI (Female) adapter.

Use a Wireless App

The benefit of using the best new tablets is you can connect your tablet to an external display via Wireless Apps.

Make sure your projector supports such apps which are compatible with your tablet.  It’s a convenient solution, and most brand name projectors feature a built-in app that lets you connect through Bluetooth or Wifi to project the content of your tablet through the projector. If your projector doesn’t have a built-in app, you can find an app on Google Play or iTunes Store depending on what device you use.

Mirroring

Your wireless dongle determines the amount of set up work you will need to do. If it uses Wifi, be sure your display device and tablet are on the same network. If they don’t use the same network, you won’t be able to stream your content. Assign the dongle a unique name or you will have a hard time finding the device.
